Coach with DryFire

See Instant Improvement in Individual and Team Scores

DryFire takes the guesswork out of coaching and makes your job easier.

As a dedicated trap shooting coach, you know the importance of precision, focus, and repetition. But what if you could enhance your students' training, regardless of weather, time, or location? With the DryFire Shotgun Simulator, you can do exactly that!

This cutting-edge, indoor training tool is designed to help your students master their skills—right from the comfort of your training space. Our squadding package allows squads of five at a time to shoot--just like a real-world setting!

DryFire is the ultimate tool for creating winners.

So... How DO Coaches Use DryFire?

1. Group Coaching

Many coaches schedule their teams, five to fifteen students at a time, over the course of an evening.

The Squadding package allows up to five shooters at one time (or 5-6 for Bunker Trap) to shoot in a squad format.  Any discipline (Trap, Bunker Trap, Skeet, International Skeet, or Sporting Clay) can be shot in a squad.

In the Squadding format, teams practice together behind one DryFire system--just as they would outdoors. Indoor training increases the number of targets that will be shot in a given period of time, and actually allows the coach to plan a schedule of squads that will shoot. This takes a huge burden off of scheduling and re-scheduling.

As a coach, you can create training plans based upon what you know your team can do outdoors. If a squad of five (5) outdoors can shoot 100 targets in one hour, they can easily do the same indoors.

Note: each shooter in a squad will need their own gun equipped with a Gun Assembly. Squad Packs come with five (5) Gun Assemblies, which can be rotated among larger teams--each group of five may use the same Gun Assemblies. Most teams find it helpful to have 2-3 additional UGA's on-hand.

2. Individual Coaching

For one-on-one training, coaches can schedule time with individuals who are looking for high-level input.

In a relaxed, un-rushed setting, students can repeat problem shots, practice mounting the gun, or simply get over "the yips," or flinches that can happen to the best of shooters. Rather than spending their time waiting for other shooters to take their shots, they can work on repetition and muscle memory.

Building confidence indoors on the simulator translates to powerful shooting on the range in competitions.

3. No More Guessing

Let's be honest: Coaching shotgun sports is hard.

Your athletes are looking to you for guidance and help. They need an expert to coach them to be the best shooter they can be. They want to win!

The reality is, most coaches are dads, moms, and adults who love the sport but aren't experts. They may have lots of shooting experience and passion, but that doesn't always translate into coaching skill.

DryFire takes the guesswork out of coaching by providing a wealth of information that can't be seen by the naked eye out on the range. It makes you an expert and gives you confidence as a coach. Accurate feedback on each shot gives you all the tools you need to guide your athletes to winning skills.

"Since incorporating DryFire into my coaching sessions, my students’ accuracy and confidence have skyrocketed! The instant feedback is a game-changer, and we can practice any time, even when we can’t make it to the range."

How About Some Success Stories?

Michael Gates

2024 Junior Champion at the Grand American

Michael Gates, age 16 from Marlow OK: Michael picked up shooting about four years ago as something fun to do with his dad. Two years in, he started to get serious about his training and set his sights on winning competitions. Over the summer he traveled to seven states to compete, and brought home at least one trophy from each state.

This year he brought home eight Grand trophies, including the 2024 Junior Singles Championship at the Grand American Trap Shooting Championships!

After winning Champion Junior, Michael was the in the final shoot off for Overall Champion. In the heart-pounding finals, he shot 200x200, then 349x350 in the shoot off, and finally 998x1000 to finish second overall! It's obvious that Michael Gates is doing something right to accomplish so much in such a short amount of time.

By the way, Michael just made the 2025 ATA All American Team roster!

Gates credits DryFire for giving him the kind of training that gives him an edge.

When his coach got a DryFire system for his local Oklahoma team a couple of years ago, Michael began training on it regularly--shooting at least 200 rounds twice a week on the system.

"DryFire is a necessity for any serious shooter," Gates says. "The list of benefits is long: learning to mount your gun consistently, making that muscle memory, learning to see targets better, improving your gun swing. For arm strength and conditioning, there's nothing better because you can do round after round with no recoil."

He continues, "The feedback on each shot gives you so much information that you can use immediately to adjust your shot. Plus, you can work on one specific thing over and over again until you get it right."

We spoke with Coach Dustin Moore of ESA Shooting Sports in Oklahoma, just as he was on his way to a training session with Michael on DryFire. He told us that DryFire has made a huge difference in Michael's performance.

"In my experience, DryFire's biggest advantage is the way it builds muscle memory. The immediate feedback allows our athletes (like Michael) to make instant adjustments, in real time, so they can get those good habits going right from the start."

We are thrilled to be part of Michael's success and we know he has a great future ahead of him.

Here's Kerra Ramsey

Kerra Ramsey, a high-school senior in  Minnesota is making waves as a formidable trapshooter.

As the MN Class 4A State Female Champion, she’s currently ranked 4th overall (including males) and has the highest average for females.

At the 2023 North Dakota ATA shoot, Kerra won Non-Resident Champion, and Highest All-Around and Highest Overall.

She was the 2022 MN State Shoot Sub-Junior HAA and HOA Winner.

Kerra’s hard work and accomplishments are paying off, with scholarships lining up for her future college shooting career!

She credits DryFire for helping her train during the winter months and helping her regain focus when she needs it.

Here's what her dad (and team coach) has to say about using DryFire in training:

"DryFire makes a huge difference in one-on-one coaching. If a kid is struggling on the range, we can come inside, set up on DryFire, and take as much time as we need to figure out where the problems are and how to correct them. Being able to practice mounting the gun and take a couple thousand shots--all without recoil--is an invaluable tool for both beginners, and kids who are committed to being high-end shooters. As a coach it makes my job so much easier because we can isolate each issue and work to fix it."

Shawn Ramsey, Coach of Fertile-Beltrami Falcons

Andrew Dong

Thirteen year old Andrew Dong won the 2024 CTA CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP Handicap Championship, taking home the top spot which includes adults in the competition.

His dad/coach says, "Many thanks to the DryFire simulator for helping him, allowing him to practice even when the shooting range is closed.”

Meet AJ Diamond

"We bought your product almost 2 years ago. My son has a very severe hearing loss and at the time I purchased the Dryfire he depended on reading lips to communicate. We decide to put a large tv by the dryfire screen. He was able to watch your instructional videos on the tv and then turn and shoot/practice. AJ’s hard work combined with your great product helped him to win:

  • 7 National championships
  • 4 state championships
  • HOA in his division at the SCTP National Championships
  • 7 scoring records between SCTP Nationals and SCTP States

AJ is now 12 and shoots on the simulator 4 to 6 times a week. Thanks again for making all this possible."

Why Coaches Love DryFire

1. Year-Round Practice—Rain or Shine

No more waiting for perfect weather or available range time. With the DryFire system, you can schedule training sessions whenever it’s convenient for you and your students, keeping their skills sharp throughout the year.

2. Instant Feedback for Immediate Improvement

DryFire provides real-time feedback on every shot taken. With detailed analysis of shot placement, trajectory, and accuracy, you can help your students correct mistakes instantly, improving their performance on the spot.

3. Realistic Trap Shooting Scenarios

Whether your students are training for competition or just improving their skills, DryFire offers realistic trap shooting simulations that mimic actual field conditions. From directional wind speeds, target flight paths to speed and angles, it’s like being at the range—without the added costs.

Did you catch that? Wind speeds (and direction) can be factored in to how clays will fly! That means you can create a real-world practice (ex. plug in 15 mph wind out of the southwest) for important competitions where you know wind will be an issue!

4. Save Time and Money

Indoor training eliminates the need for ammo, targets, and travel costs. With DryFire, you’ll make the most of your practice time, and your students will see improvements in fewer sessions. In fact, DryFire pays for itself, over and over again in cost savings.

5. Train Every Skill Level

From beginners working on basic form to advanced shooters refining their skills, DryFire adapts to every student’s needs. You’ll be able to provide personalized, in-depth instruction, no matter their experience level.

This is invaluable for coaches (who are often parent volunteers) that may not have the personal expertise or confidence to help their students effectively. You can rely on DryFire to level-up your coaching.
